Bible Study

Last night was the first night of a new bible study I am doing with some close friends. I am so excited for this fellowship and the love that we all have for one another. It is such a wonderful feeling to KNOW you have friends like that. We all know each other socially and hang out alot. But this is different for all of us. No husbands and kids… just girls trying to grow together in the Lord. I absolutely loved last night and cannot wait for next week. I can tell this group is truly going to transform within ourselves to be better moms, wives, women and daughters of Christ. Just still feeling the love this AM.

Happy Wednesday Yall!! We have a mini-ballet recital tonight and I AM PUMPED!!!

Weekend Update

Well, our crazy weekend started off with a trip to the ER. Yep, I just said ER. TC has just completed his first bout with kidney stones. He pretty much summed it up as he felt like he was dying. And before the nurse came in with a shot of pain meds he was pretty much freaking out. I was absolutely useless because I just stood there and watched him writhing around in pain. Literally, I just stood there staring at him wondering what it felt like? Thankfully, the shot of meds helped and they took him for a CT. Turns out the little booger was 4mm and in his bladder by the time they got a picture. We finished the night with some Sonic and I took the hottest shower I could stand to scrub off the nastiness that is the Emergency Room…I will spare you the grossness of the picture of the kidney stone when it came out.

Saturday morning TC has already planned to take Reagan up to Barber's Motorsports for the sportbike races. (Insert new hobby here). He felt alot better so they ended up still heading to Bham. He said she was awesome and loved it. She keeps talking about the racetrack and wearing her helmut. I totally enjoyed my time sunning on the dock with some friends from work. Saturday night when they got home Uncle Rob and Bill-Bill came to cook dinner. We had an awesome steak and they introduced me to my new favorite steak sauce. Williamson Brothers in case your wondering. Reagan and I went to bed and the boys rode the golf cart over to the neighbors house where they were having a party. I totally missed out because it was apparently the Whiskey River Band. Pretty cool…

Sunday morning we headed to church then out to lunch. It was an awesome message about living and showing your religion in the right way. It was one that TC and I both agreed we really enjoyed and needed to hear. Sunday afternoon we had some friends over to play on the lake. Uncle Rob and Bill brought the stand up jet-ski. Then our friends Lindsey and Justin brought their boys Brenton and Lane. We had a fun afternoon playing in the water and on the dock. Such a fun day with friends.

I forgot to take any pictures until tonight, so I will just leave you with this picture of my sweet girl contemplating life…

Hope Center Uganda

A couple of months ago my friend Kacy introduced me to The Hope Center Uganda. I love this blog and this family. They are heavy on my heart and need so much. This family gave up everything they had to move to Uganda for orphan care. They are truly amazing people and they need help. They are doing God's work each and every day. Currently, they are in the process of building a shop which will help them make their own money while in Uganda. In the past they have depended on the donations of others. Long story short they are in desperate need for supplies. Please think and pray about donating to them…

Ants…

Today I am contemplating ants. This is highly due to the fact that about 75 million had a huge line thru my house from the front door when I got home. I have vacuumed them, squished them and screamed at them. They keep coming people! Literally just a steady stream keep coming thru the tiniest crack in between the floor and door. I had to call TC at work to locate the ant spray and this has thankfully slowed them down. As I sat on my hands and knee's cursing the dang things I had to stop to think. There were only 2 on Noah's ark. ONLY 2!! Holy crap how are there 75 million in my house right now? On that note it's been a Monday…

Weekend Update

My weekend started off with some girl time. Friday afternoon I went out to eat with some co-workers for a birthday dinner celebration. We literally laughed so hard and had the best time together. It is amazing to have so much fun with the people you work with!!

Saturday morning Reagan and I got ready to head up to Sylacauga. Our cousin Cammie is having a baby girl! Grandmother and Janice rode with us and we headed out of town about 11:00. We stopped for lunch and got there right in time for the baby shower. Reagan was such a trooper there and back. She talked non stop the entire way home. She got to see her sweet cousin Jolee Camille.

Saturday night when we got home we cooked out with our neighbors. They are always so much fun. And they cooked us dinner so that makes them even better neighbors!
At the baby shower!
She got lots of great stuff!

Sunday morning we let TC sleep late and fixed him cinnamon rolls for breakfast. We lit him a candle and Reagan told him we fixed him "cake". We had a great morning at church then headed up to Meemee and Pa's to eat lunch. We cooked out and swam in the pool. Our little BFF "Anta Claire" came to swim with us for awhile later in the afternoon.

They did a little afternoon gardening.

We ended the evening with dinner at Bill and Leigh's house. Uncle Bill Bill outdid himself with fried squash, zuchinni, and grilled pork. Then Leigh fixed squash casserole and cucumber salad. It was an absolutely delicious meal and I could not be more thankful for their friendship. And not just because they feed us…

Dear Reagan...

Dear Reagan,
I love that you go to the potty all by yourself. BUT, I can't wait for you to learn how to wipe your own butt. I love that you know how to open the refrigerator all by yourself. Do you think you could figure out how to shut it?  If I could take a nap everyday I would, so why do you act like a crazy kid and fight taking one? One day you will realize this was a very big mistake when you are sitting at a desk in big school. I love that I can tell you to feed Murphy and you know how to do it! That's one of your best tricks at 2.5! I love that we can have a whole conversation with each other these days. You are awesome to talk to and say the funniest things. I love that you just walk up and hug me lately. It makes my heart burst with happiness. I love that you sit in your room and sing "Little Bunny Foo Foo" to your babies. Lastly, I love that you rock at ballet and tap. You pay attention and impress me everytime…
Your pretty much the coolest kid ever.
Love Always
MOM

At our house lately…

Warning: This is a post of random thoughts and things going on at our house currently. Feel free to skim…

When I was pregnant and found out I was having a girl I prayed. I prayed for one that loved baby dolls, hairbows, glitter and all things girly. OH MY did the Lord hear those prayers. (Obviously I also prayed for important things like let her love God and grow up to be a good person too. I am not that shallow.) Anyways, I have been given one sassy little girl. She cracks me up every single day. She hates having her hands dirty. She will wave them in my face yelling, "WIPE THEM, WIPE THEM!!" She is newly obsessed with her high heels and asked for new dress up clothes the other day.
Dont ask me where her pants went?
She is obviously wondering the
same thing…
I had this random hole in the back of my hallway that has been a magnet for junk since we moved. Well the other day I got sick of looking at it and recruited my 80 something year old Grandaddy to help me with shelves. He was awesome. He went with me to Home Depot and helped me pick out wood then cut them for me. I had a slight panic attack thinking I didn't measure right, but they worked thank goodness. Thank you so much Grandaddy!! They look great. *Note to self: you have to stir the paint next time… Also, ignore that nasty grate, I'am working on that next.
The random hole.

Reagan was asked to take some pictures for Academy of Ballet and Jazz for an article. OMG is all I can say about that.  The kid DID NOT SMILE. Not once people. NOT ONE SMILE. I begged her, I pleaded, I tried to bribe. Nothing worked. Needless to say I highly doubt we make the ad. Mortified probably would have described me at that point. Oh well, its gonna be a funny story one day.

We have tap shoes for our big girl ballet class. They are loud, noisy and funny. These pictures are of Reagan rocking them before 8am this morning with her pajamas on. She loves these tap shoes. And I must confess I love them too. I also love Murphy in the background wondering why I let her put these on.

Weekend Update

Pretty great weekend at the Lightsey's. Friday night we had a family night at home and packed all our junk to make it to Bham on Saturday. About 5:20 AM Saturday morning TC's alarm clock went off and I wanted to scream! OMG 5:20 really? Anyway, TC was riding his sportbike at Barbers Motorsports Park and he had to be there super early. Reagan and I left about 6:30. I think I packed enough food to entertain us for a week. I have a fear of being somewhere and getting crazy hungry. I have no idea why I have this irrational fear but anyways. So that's where we spent the day Saturday. Reagan was awesome and loved the track. She will definitely be game to go again. She loved watching and saying there goes daddy!! She must have thought he was super fast, cause she said it about every rider. But in her defense they did all look alike. Here are a few pictures. (And might I add its really hard to get a picture of somebody going that fast!)
Flying by!

Reagan and I left early from Barbers to head home. I had to be back early for Patrick and Eileen's Engagement party at Evangelines. Thanks to Robert and AC for letting me use their shower so I didn't waste 30 more minutes driving all the way home. We had a great night celebrating for Pat and Eileen and their wedding is going to be so fun!

Sunday morning we made it to church for the first time in a few weeks. (Insert stomach virus weekends here.) I knew I wasn't feeling 100% but didn't know why. Reagan and I took a nap after lunch and I woke up with a 103 fever!! OMG I am going from freezing to hot flashes when my fever breaks from Tylenol. I feel totally fine just a random fever? Who knows… Just a day in the life of the Lightsey's!

CHOM

Last Thursday we went to CHOM (Children's Hands on Museum) with three of our little friends and their moms. We had such a great time and the girls were SO sweet together. Reagan was a little shy at first, but she warmed up after awhile. They ran thru the place playing and having so much fun. After a about 2 hours we walked across the street to Mellow Mushroom for lunch. They were surprisingly well-behaved for three 2 year olds and a 9 month old. (I think that's around Ella's age?) Anyways, while we weren't looking Reagan poured out some paprika that was on the table for the pizza. She took a big lick and had an absolute MELTDOWN! We had no idea what happened at first, then quickly realized when we saw the evidence. She was pitiful trying to wipe it off her tongue. It was sad and really funny at the same time.

Reagan's Randoms

"Momma, when I get to school Ms. Rachel gonna tell us no booger pickin' today"

Apparently Reagan's class at school is having a little booger issue. Due to this fact, it is currently the topic of many conversations. For example:
Me:"Reagan who did you sit by at lunch today?"
R: "Ummmm, John Michael"
Me: "Did you eat your lunch?"
R: "Ummm, yes and John Michael ate his boogers"

She named one of her babies "Sarah And" we tried telling her it's Ann, but she's not having that.

She thinks its called Walmark (Wal-mart)

She calls her Barbie's her "barbs"

She tries to sneak up on us all the time and when we catch her, she screams,"HEY!! I was sneakin' on you!!" So now we all say we are sneakin' on each other all the time.

I taught her to scream when we go under bridges at the lake. Well, she is obsessed with screaming under the bridges when driving down the road now.

Her new favorite answer to a question is, "UMMMM, I dunno?"

And people, we are finally to the WHY stage… AHHHHHH!!!!

Starting to stand just like her daddy...

Weekend Update

Well, the weekend started off with a bang. TC had stomach bug… NOT FUN. He felt nauseous Friday afternoon/night and woke me up puking about 10:30. Now don't get me wrong, I love my hubs very much. But with that being said, I HATE hearing him throw up. It is the loudest most awkward (and sorry TC, but obnoxious) sound I have ever heard. It just makes me want to run the other way screaming. BUT, since I am a good wifey, I took him a wet rag and told him to yell if he needed anything else. *SIDE NOTE: I know I do totally annoying and gross things all the time.

Saturday morning, good ole Ray was up at 6:30 am asking for milk. I got lucky and she fell back asleep till about 8. TC was still out of commission, so we entertained ourselves for the day. We went to Academy and Hobby Lobby then out to lunch with CeeCee. Reagan ended up spending the night with mom and I came home and had a relaxing night with TC. He moved from the bed to the couch and that was the extent of his day.

Thankfully on Sunday TC felt alot better. We got up early and went to pick up Reagan. She was NOT ready to come home and when she saw us pulling up she started saying NO and trying to hide!!  We spent the day hanging around outside and not doing much of anything. It has been an incredibly uneventful weekend at our house. I can't believe I am saying this, but I am kinda ready for work tomorrow.

This Wednesday we start big girl ballet. That means I won't be in the room anymore!! We got new ballet shoes, tights, and 2 new leotards this weekend. My sweet little girl is growing up way too fast. Before I know it she's gonna want a cellphone…
