Weekend Update

This weekend we celebrated Patrick and Eileen's upcoming marriage. They are such a great match and I cannot wait for their wedding. Friday after a few setbacks (we thought Reagan had pink-eye) we left T-town about 7:30 and arrived at Robert and Anna Claire's lake house around 9:45ish. We obviously missed dinner, but stayed up way too late reminiscing and talking with everybody. I am so thankful for these life long friends. And they will always have to stay some of my best friends, because they know way to much about me to be enemies…

Saturday morning we got up early and went out on the boat. We were at Lake Martin and some of the new houses they are building are beautiful!! It was a little overcast but perfect. We spent the entire day outside.

Lunch!
Aren't we sweet?
After lunch we went out on the ski boat and Robert pulled us on the "Ski Bob". It was the funniest thing we have ever watched. Everybody took turns and I think I created abs after laughing so hard.

Saturday night we went on a late night pontoon cruise and played a game where we asked Pat to answer questions about Eileen and vice/versa. They did awesome!! Guess we will let them get married after all…
New family to be!

It was an awesome weekend and I am so glad we got to be a part of it. We had to get up early to leave Sunday morning so TC could race sportbikes in Leeds. I came home since Reagan was running a fever and made it to Tuscaloosa by 9am. After a trip to Medcenter we know that it's just a good ole' fever virus! (What the doctor tells you when he has no clue!!)

Over and Over…

The things I hear over and over at my house and my thoughts on them as follows:
DISCLAIMER: I wouldn't change a thing about her!!!

In the bathroom
"MOMMA, can you wipe my butt?"
*Seriously? call your daddy for once!!

"I'm finished… HURRRY, I'm finished"
*Reagan, you sat on the toilet for 10 min and the second I walked out your done?

"DON'T wash my hair, I didn't get any food in it…"
*UM, this is because there is ALWAYS food in her hair?

"I PEED, I need a prize!!"
*OK, that was only to get you going at the beginning. Now you pee 7,000 times a day and I am not giving you 7,000 Oatmeal Creme pies, cause I know that's what you will ask for.

In the Kitchen
"Can I have a snack?"
*I just cooked dinner and you didn't eat one bite? NO, absolutely NO snacks...

"I'm thirsty, can you fix me a drink?"
*You have had a million cups of juice, are you seriously still thirsty or did you just see me sit down for a second and are trying to see if you can make me get back up?

In the Living Room
"Can you turn on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? I wanna watch Mickey Mouse…Do you think Mickey Mouse is on????"
*If I had a dollar for every time I hear "OHHHH TOOTLES" AHHHHH, I feel like I am going crazy. It's probably the same feeling TC gets when he listens to me watching all my Real Housewives episodes. We all just want to gouge our eyes out.

All over the house
"MOMMA, where are you??? I am looking for you???"
*I just walked out of your sight. Trust me I am NOT going to leave you… I was just trying to go to the bathroom in peace.

"Let's play hide and seek…I'm gonna get in the closet, come find me"
*This game is still pretty easy since you're only 2

Weekend Update

Friday night we went to a low country boil in honor of Patrick and Eileen's wedding festivities!! It was so much fun and we saw a bunch of people we haven't got to visit with in forever. I love good ole' county high reunions.

Saturday morning we got up bright and early to head to Jasper. We went to the Ford dealership so TC could get his new truck. Lucky us, the salesman had been working there for a whole week. Needless to say, it took FOREVER.
TC's new truck!
We stopped and went to eat lunch in the middle of the "deal". We came home and went to check on Bill and Leigh. Leigh is still holding out with baby Grey. So proud of her. After we left their house we went over to Rodney and Lacey's to visit baby Parker. He is so stinking sweet and tiny.
Parker Sullivan
Sunday morning we went to church, then out to lunch at Taco Casa. The three of us took a two hour nap Sunday afternoon. After that we went for a pontoon boat ride at Meemee and Pa's. It was a perfect and relaxing afternoon.
Happy for snacks.

Brownies

So I let Reagan help me bake some brownies for TC this afternoon. Sister busted the bag and had the mix everywhere before I could turn around twice. She then "helped" me crack all three eggs on the counter, followed by putting the entire egg (the part that was left and wasn't on the counter) in the mix, shell and all. I think I spent more time picking egg shells out than it took the whole thing to bake. She is definitely my child though, because when I turned my back for half a second, you better believe she had her little finger in the mix eating it. Actually, I am surprised she hasn't thrown up yet. But hey, we made some sweet memories. Hah, no pun intended…

Yeah, that's her whole hand in the mix...
I made her use a spoon...
Pretty sure we will be eating egg shells...

Weekend Update

Is it weird I really had to think super hard about Friday to remember what I did? I went with co-workers after work for some quality, not-at-work, time. I got home and the people across the lake were having a party with an awesome live band. TC, Reagan and I sat outside and played enjoying it all until our crazy dog disappeared. One minute he was beside us and the next gone. So, we got out the golf cart and went searching for him. We found every other dog in the neighborhood. Literally, we found 7 other dogs and he was nowhere around. Luckily, we finally found him hanging out at the marina. Needless to say, he went to time out for the night. AKA, he slept outside, which is his worst nightmare.

Saturday morning we got up early and headed to town. TC is getting a new work truck so we went to the Ford dealership to truck shop, picked up his suit for Patricks wedding, lunch at Five guys, a trip to toys-r-us and then back home. Bill and Leigh came up for dinner. Poor Leigh is still on bed-rest so we kept her in the chair all night. TC and Bill cooked us some amazing chicken wings. A Lightsey favorite for sure.

Sunday morning we went to church, then out to lunch with Anna Claire, Robert, Austin and Uncle Jason. We ended up at Academy to buy a few things. Reagan successfully pooped and or peed in every place we went all weekend. I think it's a game she plays with me. She waits until the most in-opportune time and announces she has to "GO" right then. She has a fascination with bathrooms at other places these days. I guess I shouldn't complain since she is finally potty trained though.

We spent the afternoon on the boat with Ceecee and Poppa. We rode all over the lake and loved it. It was such an easy and relaxing weekend. We have so much to be thankful for at our house. And trust me, we are!

Our visit to the Vet

So let me set the scene. We are at the Vet's office with Murphy. (We being Reagan and myself). The place is packed on a Thursday morning. We got to the window to sign in and wait…and we waited…and waited some more. Each time the door opens Murph LUNGES at whatever animal is coming thru. I mean, rip my arm off, jumps at these poor people kinda lunges. It's painful and embarrassing. He just gets extremely excited.

Anyways….so a man walks in with two crazy dogs and it takes all the workers to help him rope these dogs up. Murphy and 5 other dogs start jumping all around and then Reagan in her outside voice yells, "I have to pee!!" over and over. She then starts hopping on one foot and doing the whole potty dance routine. And these days if she announces it you better go, and I mean FAST. So I look around hopelessly trying to figure out what to do with Murphy?

This sweet old lady beside me offers help, but she had her hands full with her own dog and I didn't need a lawsuit when he ripped her arm off.  I spotted the bathroom in the back and had no choice but to drag Murphy in the bathroom with us. It was the tiniest little bathroom you have ever seen. So we get the job done just in the nick of time and exit. As soon as we do, another person opens the door to enter the vet's office.

In slow motion, Murph lunges at them, and his leash goes straight across Reagan's poor neck. (Close-lined her if you will) It knocked her flat of her back and she just laid there. It happened so fast she and I were just looking at one another shocked. She never cried just looked at me and Murphy standing over her.  I helped her up and the same sweet old lady asked her if she was ok? She looked at her and said in the sweetest voice, "That crazy dog just knocked me straight over!"

Needless to say, I was happy to get that trip over. And did I mention that visit to the vet cost us $233?? UGH!

Weekend Update

So, I have had alot going on but not much to time to write about it. This past week we have had a bunch of excitement. Thankfully Leigh and Grey are still holding out while they are on bedrest. Leigh has more than enough time on her hands for Olympic watching and DVR.

Last Wednesday Reagan had her second performance at ballet for viewers. She definitely had a crowd. Her admirers included me, TC, CeeCee, Meemee, Pa, Grandmother, Granddaddy, and Aunt Janice. Pretty sure our family alone filled up the room. She did awesome and didn't even panic when she saw everybody there to watch her. And I may or may not have bribed her with a Barbie DVD.

I am also so excited to share that our BFF "little" Anna Claire got her baby sister last Tuesday!! Lillian Virginia is ABSOLUTELY beautiful and I cannot wait to get to sit and hold her for hours. We are so proud of Josh and Lindsey.

But you want to know my most exciting news?? I GOT A LAWNMOWER. Yes, you read that correctly. It's ALL MINE. TC works outside all day and hates to have to come home and do yard work. Well I have time, and I like the yard to not be so ghetto… Solution? I got a riding lawnmower. I would like to give a huge shout out to Pa (TC's dad) for hooking me up with my new ride. I would also like to give a shout out to my supplier Singley Small Engine.

With all that being said, Friday night we had a great and relaxing evening at home grilling out. Saturday we got up and spent the morning swimming on the dock and playing. Saturday afternoon we had a group nap. Seriously, TC on a couch, Reagan on another couch and I was in the chair. We all slept from 2-4:00pm. How awesome is that? We then had dinner at Chick-fil-A and went to visit Bill and Leigh.

Sunday morning we headed to church then out to lunch with Robert and Anna Claire. Our church is having 21 days of prayer and it's going to be amazing. After lunch we went to our neighbors house and went swimming with their kids. They wear Reagan out. About an hour after being there she crawled in my lap, yawned once and passed out. Literally, slept like a rock for over an hour. Then Sunday night we cooked dinner at Bill and Leigh's. TC made some AWESOME homemade buffalo chicken pizza. It was DELICIOUS… That about wraps up our lives.

Reagan and I are spending tomorrow (Tuesday) with Lindsey, Anna Claire and Lillian. I am so excited so get to bond with that new baby. And give Lindsey some much needed rest…

**PS Blogger is being crazy and I can't upload any pictures from the weekend??? Some to come in the near future!!
