Summer!

So these days are flying by, and I am soooo ready for Summer. Reagan has been getting settled into a great routine between school and staying home with me. I can already tell a huge difference in her. The teacher always tells me good things. I think she does well at school or either somebody is lying.... Anyways, TC is super pumped that he is riding in his first "comeback" race for Motocross. Yes, our life insurance is paid up. That's this Saturday and while he is doing that we will be birthday partying it up. Reagan has not one, but TWO swimming parties Saturday. She is going to be one worn out little girl. The only bad thing about her going to a swimming party is that I am most likely gonna have to swim too. Guess I should dig out some mom appropriate swimwear for the events. HAH kidding I am gonna rock a two-piece.

On another note, I lost at Bunco last night. Our bunco group is hilarious and so much fun. I laugh the entire time I am with everyone. Bunco is a dice game for those of you who don't know. It gets loud, obnoxious and competitive. We love it!!! Next month is my month to host so I get to cook dinner and have it at my house. I am totally excited for it and think I am going to plan a themed bunco. Maybe I should make them dress up?

School Days! Pre-school that is!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to update, we have been so busy!... Pre-school has been a success! I was a nervous wreck last Wednesday on the way to Reagan's school. My stomach was turning over and over. I ABSOLUTELY did not want to leave her. But, I did and she lived. I cried the whole way home and sat on the couch feeling sorry for myself until it was time for me to go to work. She was not a happy camper when I left, but they tell me she gets over it quick. I laughingly told them that she would NOT lay down and sleep on her nap mat that "princess" needs to be rocked. In turn, they have laughingly told me both days she has gone that she lays right down and sleeps for 2 and a half hours! I mean honestly, nothing like your own kids to make you look like a liar. She is so dang cute in her little class. She is the tiniest one and is also one of the oldest.

On another note I celebrated my second official Mothers Day!! Reagan ran a fever and was snotty all night Saturday night so she slept in bed with TC and I. NOT FUN...... I woke up 15,000 times to different body parts poking into me. Sunday morning she was still sick and whiney so we didn't get to go to church on Mother's day, which I was sad about but no use in getting others sick. She and I slept almost the entire day Sunday wahoo!! Nothing like catching up on some much needed sleep. So that is all for now. I was informed by my husband he never finishes reading my posts because they are "too long"....hmm

Pre-school

The day has finally come. Reagan is going to school in the morning. Pretty sure I will be the crazy mom sitting in the parking lot crying. I mean she is only going 2 days a week and will be home with me all day on Tuesday and Thursday. I am just being a tad emotionally dramatic. I am going to refrain from calling up there more than 3 times tomorrow and she probably wont even stay all day. I only have to work for a little while.

Anyways, on another note its stinkin 48 degrees in Tuscaloosa tonight. I have had all the tornado victims on my mind all day. I am cold, so I know they are. It is still absolutely amazing how our town has pulled together. It will be months and months and probably years before we are fully re-built. Its heartbreaking. Not to mention the stories we keep hearing about looters!! UNREAL, how can you steal from other people at a time like this? I can't imagine their reasoning or why anyone would think this was OK. The good news is that Tuscaloosa News reports 8 people have been arrested for it! On that note Roll Tide and Good Night. I will update about pre-school adventures tomorrow!!!

Tornado Nightmare!

Wow, so to go all the way back to last Wednesday April 27.  A day that will forever be an important date in Tuscaloosa history. Thank the good Lord I left work at the hospital around 4:10, about 40 minutes before the tornado hit 50 yards from the hospital!!! I knew Reagan was safe up on the lake at Mee Mee and Grandpas (where TC also was). I came straight home since Murphy was outside and talked to TC on the phone. Decided I would be fine that probably the weather would miss us (YEAH RIGHT) and I would just stay home with the dog. Well, long story short, I sat in the bathtub with Murphy and felt like my heart was jumping out of my chest as I watched James Spann show a HUGE tornado rip right thru the heart of Tuscaloosa. In the aftermath, as I sit and look at pictures and watch youtube videos people posted, I still cannot wrap my head around the devastation. You have to see it with your own eyes to believe it. It is absolutely unreal. I cry every time I start looking at pictures people have posted. Our town has been destroyed. That is the only word to describe it, DESTROYED. But, at the same time the volunteers have been amazing. You can see people pull together to help one another and show their love for their neighbors. I cannot praise our Mayor Walt Maddox enough. Wow, he has done an excellent job and deserves some major credit. He would get my vote next year if I lived in the city!

And as bad as this sounds yes, we still went on our beach trip. TC and Bill volunteered all day Thursday and we left after that. The beach was beautiful and we had an amazing trip, but all of us had heavy hearts for our town. This week I will be putting in my time volunteering. And tomorrow I have already decided as much as I really hate blood and needles I am going to go donate. It is a weird feeling knowing I can't just ride down 15th Street like normal and swing in the Taco Casa drive-thru. Oh yeah, and I luckily had 2 Krispy Kreme doughnuts Wednesday morning. What are the odds? I am selfishly going to really miss those in the next few months.
