Easter Weekend Update

HE IS RISEN!! What a perfect Easter weekend we had. Minus the rain of course.  Friday night we went to Bill and Leigh's house for Secret Church. The pastor of the Church at Brook Hills, David Platt does these each year. Rob and Brittany attend there and Rob headed it up for us. It was an intensive bible study for 6 hours on Heaven, Hell and the End of the World. OHMYGOSH, was it amazing.  We watched the simulcast live and I learned so much. It was jam packed with so much knowledge and info and just awesomeness, I cant even begin to explain it. And how amazing that we watched it with some of our best friends? It makes me so grateful to grow and learn with the people who I love the most.

Saturday morning Tc had to work, so Reagan and I headed to Sylacauga with mom and Dad for family Easter. We had so much fun with family eating and hunting eggs. Reagan loved every minute of it.

We had a quick stop at the Galleria after we left family Easter. Poor poppa, we trick him into shopping every time. He made us pick one store, so we went with Macy's. Little did he realize it has 3 floors. By the time Reagan and I finally got home Saturday night we had a quick dinner at Jalapenos with TC.

Sunday morning we got up and got ready for church. I really hadn't talked up the Easter bunny aspect much and she wasn't expecting a thing. She finally walked into the den after an hour of being awake and said, "OHmygosh, who does that basket belong too?" It was so sweet. She was thrilled to find all kinds of goodies in her  Easter basket.

New pose I keep getting?

Got to love a self timer on a camera!

Our church service was absolutely amazing. I didn't even make it thru the first worship song before I started tearing up. TC and I watched Passion of the Christ on Saturday night therefore I went to bed overwhelmed and woke up overwhelmed. I am so thankful for my God, my church and my family.

Happy Easter 2013 from the Lightsey's!!!

Confessions of a three year old

Three years old is still young and innocent enough to tell on yourself. I LOVE it...

Monday night as we were getting ready for bed Reagan rolled over and confessed she had been in the "calm down" chair at school that day. I stifled my laugh and asked if that's the same as a "time out" chair for being bad? She immediately replied,"um no, that ones red. I wasn't in trouble, just calming down"
***I talked to her teacher and she apparently smacked somebody in the head who was trying to take her toy.

The next day she magically had some decorations off her tree in her room. (It's themed out for each holiday). I asked how she got them to which she replied,"I think they just fell off?" I just smiled as I left her room. A little while later she came to me and said,"I think I climbed up my dresser and crawled across it to get those decorations?" She thinks that's what happened hah!

Reagan: "Hey mom!"
Me: "yes?"
Reagan: "I didn't just pick my nose!, ok?"

She always sneaks into her room and plugs in her tree. She knows this is a no-no. Yet again the other day it was plugged in. I asked her how that happened and she sweetly replied, "welp, it prolly just did it by itself?" "Um, momma? Well I prolly just helped the plug ok?"

Happy Birthday Rob!!

So this weekend was our dear best friend Rob's 27th birthday. We love Uncle Rob around our house and were very excited to celebrate him and his birth. His sweet girlfriend Brittany planned an awesome surprise birthday dinner at Village Tavern at the Summit. Company was amazing and the food was awesome. She pulled it off perfectly. I dare say he was quite surprised by us awaiting him!

Once about a year ago Rob was playing with Reagan. It was all fun and games until he pretended to have a claw attached to his hand. She laughed the first time and was scarred for life after that. For a good 6 months she FREAKED out when she saw him. She still frequently asks about his claw and we have now convinced her that is has been surgically removed. He has had to bring Dora gummies to our house every time he comes since then to get back into her good graces.

Uncle Rob is currently in nurse anesthetist school in Birmingham. We are super proud of him and can't wait till he makes the big bucks and takes us all on vacations with him.

So, in honor of Uncle Rob's birthday I am going to share some of my favorite photos I have been saving up for awhile now. Rob is really a versatile guy as you will see.

Weekend Update

It was a beautiful weekend! We had absolutely perfect weather. Friday night we decided to grill steaks at the last minute. We were so excited that Bill and Grey got to join us. (We missed Leigh TONS while she was at work) I feel like Grey has grown 3 inches since I saw him last. We had a fabulous dinner and I love having Grey all to myself. Reagan absolutely loves him and he was so funny. She kept saying, "Grey watch me do this!" and he would turn his head and watch whatever she was doing.

Charlie and Murphy were thrilled with the good weather.

Can anybody spot the real baby?
Saturday morning we got up bright and early for picture day at ballet. I LOVED getting Reagan ready with hair and makeup. I was worried about her smiling for the camera because no parents are allowed in back but THANK THE LORD she was in a smiling mood. Our class picture time was right behind "Little" Anna Claire's and the girls were thrilled to see each other.

This picture melts my heart!

Her ballet class minus 3 girlies!
After pictures we met CeeCee and Poppa for lunch at Five Guys. Poppa took Reagan and I on Thursday for lunch and it was so delicious we wanted it again.

Lunch
Saturday afternoon TC had a project. Our neighbors moved and told us we could have their old swing set if we moved it. That was an easy decision!! Do yall know how expensive these things are now-a-days?? Reagan took a nap and woke up to a surprise in the backyard. SHE WAS THRILLED! She keeps saying watch me play on my "park". Cracks me up…
One happy girl!
Saturday night we boiled shrimp with Rodney, Lacey, baby Parker, Josh, Lindsey, "little" Anna Claire, baby Lillian, Bill and Grey. It was a full house with all the little ones. All the babies are within 2 months of each other. They were absolutely precious playing and interacting. The little girls loved being together too.

Tinkerbell and Belle
Sunday morning we were up early for church. I am so ready for these next few services and Easter Sunday. We are so blessed to have a church where we really feel connected.

Stubbornness...

Reagan is stubborn. I am stubborn. Together we have battles of wills daily. Today she wanted to go outside. It's beautiful, and I am more than happy to go and get out of the house.

Me: "Reagan go get your shoes and a jacket and I will open the garage door."

Her: (lays out in the floor and goes limp)"I don't want to wear my jacket!!"

Me: "ok, then your not going outside its cold"

Her:"ok" and continues to lay there

People this went on for an HOUR!! A solid hour of "can I go outside yet?" "Ummm do you have on a jacket?"
"NO!" And goes limp...

I reminded her more than once its a simple decision and I am in charge around here. Although I am pretty sure her 3 yr old brain thinks she's in charge. It's so funny to watch her test me and see if I will give in. Too bad for her my stubbornness is bigger.

We are now happily outside playing and she is wearing shoes and a jacket! Chalk one up for me today, I won!!

Weekend Update

This weekend has been so exciting. Friday night Reagan and TC headed to the racetrack to spend the night in the motorhome. They love going up a day early and camping. Me on the other hand enjoyed sleeping in my own bed. The dogs and I read a good book and were sound asleep by 10:00 on a Friday night.

I got up early on Saturday morning to head to the track. But before I even got out of bed, I heard some exciting news!! Anna Claire's water had broken and they were heading to the hospital!!! I teared up thinking about how wonderful this day would be for them. Both of their families are amazing and SO excited for this first Grandbaby to arrive.

I headed to bham about 8:30 and spent the day with the fam jam at Barbers. TC is so happy racing season is back. He hasn't had a thing to spend money on all winter long hah! We had a great day and everybody had fun. Although I wish the sun would have come out for awhile. We got home around 7ish and headed to Clark's for a quick dinner. Roberts brother Austin kept me in the know all day about Anna Claire's progress. I am so happy to report baby Grove made his entrance into the world at 8:15 pm weighing 8lbs and 3oz and 21 1/2 inches long! Mommy and baby are both doing great.

Sunday morning came early since we lost an hour due to "springing forward". Why we change times two times a year is beyond me, but ill take more sunshine anyday. Our church service was phenomenal and exactly what we needed to hear as usual. After church we had a quick lunch at Taco Casa then headed home to change clothes. We spent the afternoon on some land Tcs parents own. Toby Lynn, Chad and Allie Hunter came with us to shoot guns. Us big girls got to shoot pistols and the boys shot the big guns. I also shot Tcs revolver and his AR 15. The revolver was a worse kick than the big gun! Who knew? The little girls weren't even fazed by the gun shots and had so much fun playing outside in the warm weather.

We headed home and were surprised by a visit from the one and only Uncle Rodney. Reagan adores him and immediately wanted him to come in her room to play.

We had a perfect weekend and couldn't have asked for more. Sad to see it end but blessed to have had it!
