Beach Weekend!

We are home, I am sad!! We had an AMAZING weekend at the beach. The weather was absolutely perfect. Reagan was awesome the ENTIRE time and loved every minute of it. She had a great car ride down and back and slept for at least 2 hours both ways. (Thank you Lord) We headed straight to the beach Thursday when we got there which was around 1pm. I forgot to did not listen to my hubs and got fried. Very red arms and legs. I hate hearing him tell me "I told you so." It's annoying. Anyways, that was followed by amazing seafood at Mikee's.

Friday was another perfect day where we played on the sand all day then went to dinner at The Original Point. Poppa drove us over to Florida for that one and it was well worth it.

Typical Reagan face

Pure Sweetness!
Saturday was an equally great day and we ventured to the pool. Reagan was AWESOME swimming in her floaties. She can swim all over the pool all by herself. I was so impressed. Then Saturday night, TC and I went out to dinner alone. We had one of our favorites Cosmo's. The firecracker shrimp is my favorite.

Poppa went to Foley
 to get us Krispy Kreme

Sunday morning we headed to the beach for a final few hours an got on the road around 12. We had to get home in time to rescue Murphy the owners of, Hot Diggity Dog DayCamp. He got a great report and is totally worn out.

Well, that pretty much sums up our awesome weekend getaway. We couldn't have asked for a better time. And a huge THANK YOU to Ceecee and Poppa for taking us. We really, really appreciate it!!!

Beach Bound

The Lightsey's are beach bound in the AM. I am beyond thrilled. I cannot wait for my toes to feel the sand and have sunshine on my face. On that note, while packing I realized my kid has a million swimsuits. I think that's awesome. Swimsuits are one of my favorite things. Another note? I cannot wait to use my new camera and just relax with my family. OHHHH JOY… Seriously Yall, I cannot wait.
My bathing beauty last summer. Oh my how she's grown!!!
Happy weekend yall!! Here's to hoping Murphy doesn't terrorize the Hot Diggity Dog Daycamp…

Weekend Update

Well another weekend said and done. Friday I declared I was not cooking and TC looked at me with a "What's new?" face. So we ate Steve's BBQ. It's a trailer that sells BBQ in front of the Lakeland gas station near our house and it is soooo good. We had sandwiches and BBQ nachos. They are seriously delicious and their rating is a 100, which makes me feel better we are eating dinner out of a trailer.

Saturday morning TC got up and was productive. Reagan and I just watched him cut grass and fix the yard. We did keep him company outside while blowing bubbles for an hour though.

Sitting on the porch!! So sweet!
Yeap, he seriously wore overalls to
cut the grass.
Reagan had a birthday party to attend Saturday afternoon. Sweet Emma Grace turned 2 and all the little ones at the party had a ball!
The Birthday Girl

Laying in the balls being silly!!
Then Saturday night uncle Bill-Bill, Rob and Brittany came up for dinner. Reagan had a big day and passed out on us about 10pm and Sunday morning TC and I had to wake her up for church. That never happens and of course didn't happen on a day when he or I could sleep in.

We had a great sunday at church followed by lunch with Robert and "big" Anna Claire. That was followed by an awesome Sunday afternoon nap and then we played with our neighbors. They have 3 kids that are hilarious. Their little girl is 4 and thinks TC is her dad's brother for some reason. She also has named him Reece and absolutely would not call him by his real name. Needless to say I see a fun and interesting summer in our future with the neighbors!!

Randomness

-I was standing in the kitchen and heard Reagan walking in behind me. She then hopped out and said, "Hey Momma, I just sneaked on you!" AKA I sneaked up on you to try to scare you!

-"Reagan don't do that or you will go to time out"
"I wuv time out, I like time out, I go there now"
UMMMM….what do you with that? I mean, that was suppose to be the punishment!!

-CeeCee (my mom) bought Reagan new Hello Kitty rainboots. They are heavy on her feet and she can't walk in them. She got frustrated and sat down on the floor, looked up and said, "These shoes don't work?"

-After pre-school one day I asked her what she ate for lunch. She replied, "Yogurt and cheese and two crackers" If you know my child this is alot for her because girlfriend DOES NOT EAT. The point of this story is that I did not pack any of that in her lunch box that day?

-"Mommy, I WUV your tummy it's so soft and fluffy!!" hmmmm thanks?

-Whenever she cannot find TC she automatically assumes he's at work. The other Saturday she woke up and he was still home so she said "UH OH, daddy forgot work today!!"

-On the way to swimming she told me she wanted to show her teacher Davis her "skeeter bites" AKA all her mosquito bites.

Weekend Update

So Friday night our amazing, wonderful, sweet and dear best friends kept Reagan for us. Bill Bill and Leigh are two of TC and my best friends, whom we love dearly. (And NOT just because they babysat Friday night either) Reagan was pumped when we got there and could have cared less that we were leaving her. She LOVES being at their house anytime, so she was thrilled to be the center of attention for a few hours. They of course had super fun things planned for her like a whole bubble blowing extravaganza and painting. They are brave because they actually gave her real paints and paper and whatnot.

While Reagan was having the time of her life, TC and I went to the Luke Bryan concert. We had SO MUCH FUN. He put on an amazing show at the ampitheater here in Tuscaloosa. I didn't even realize I knew over half the songs he sang. TC is the music buff in our house not me.

Saturday morning we all slept late then took a trip to Lowe's. Thank goodness I put on makeup because we saw about 50 people we knew. We ended up with a new outdoor rug for the porch and cushions for my chairs. Reagan and TC were playing in the yard Saturday afternoon when she started freaking out! TC was right beside her and couldn't figure out what had happened? Turns out she tried to pick up a Buckmoth Caterpillar! It stung her little hand and obviously hurt pretty bad. I think it took us almost an hour to get her calmed down. And yes, we googled what kind of caterpillar it was. Needless to say, she probably will never touch a caterpillar again in her life! Saturday night Bill Bill came over for dinner while Leigh worked. Uncle Jason also showed up and the five of us had some awesome boiled shrimp with new potatoes and corn on the cob.

Sunday morning we headed to church and watched an amazing event. About 20 people were baptized at the Church of the Highlands Tuscaloosa campus. It was such a humbling experience to be a part of. Reagan even got to see what was happening and had a million questions. Makes my heart proud to teach her what being a Christian is about. Her sweet innocent words hit home when she said, "I so happy I clappin' for them!!" She obviously doesn't get it all the way, but she knew the joy that everyone around her was feeling and took part in it.

Sunday afternoon we ended with a spontaneous boat ride with our good friends Josh, Lindsey and little Anna Claire. That's the joy of living on the lake! We just randomly got picked up for a boat ride!!

Hope you are all as blessed as the Lightsey's today!! And sorry for no pictures, I was a slacker this weekend!

First Haircut

Welp, I finally did it, I got Reagan's hair cut! I didn't even cry. I pepped her up the whole way there about how she had to be really still and be a big girl. Well sister listened, and DID AWESOME!! She sat in the chair by herself and didn't move a muscle. She stared at herself in the mirror the whole time and would give a quick little grin. It was so stinkin' cute. And, I would like to brag that about 3 people complimented me on how impressed they were with her. (That doesn't happen alot with a two year old people!) She then got her hair french braided down the sides and it was so stinking cute. I have got to figure out how to do that.

Yall know its hard to get
a picture of sister smiling!!
Proud of those braids!
After she was done with her hair, she got her nails done. She is obsessed with painted nails currently. (Gets that one from me.) She was so proud of those fingernails she kept her hands straight out in front of her for 30 minutes. She couldn't believe that she had glitter on her fingers. She kept saying,"Hey momma, look at these parkles!! I WUVVV PARKLES!!" (No "S" in sparkle either).

Loves fingernails already
The good Lord knew what he was doing when he gave me a sweet girl who loves the beauty shop as much as me!!

Weekend Update

HE IS RISEN!! What a wonderful Easter weekend it turned out to be! We are beyond blessed in the Lightsey household and I am so thankful every single day. Friday night my best friend from high school and college roommate was in town for the weekend so she came to see the new house and visit! We laughed so hard at some old stories and I am kinda amazed I lived thru college…

Saturday morning we got up bright and early to head to my side of the family in Sylacauga. Reagan and I both had crazy sinus issues going on and my throat was KILLING me!! We arrived, ate lunch and hunted eggs. Well, I assume they hunted eggs, because I laid under a blanket on the couch shivering from fever.

Huntin' eggs
CeeCee was really
excited about her eggs!
Sunday morning the Easter bunny came to visit and left us some goodies! Reagan said she "Wuved that bunny 'cause he knowed she loved Dora!"
Side note: her daddy put those
'too little' pjs on the night before!
We then headed off to church and ohmygoodness was it an awesome service. It was all about the miracle of Easter and that miracles still exist today. Head over to Church of the Highlands if you want to listen to the sermon on miracles. It will bless you, I promise. I could not stop thinking of the miracle God has given us in Reagan. She was 1 lb 13oz  people!!
That was an IV in her head,
one of the hardest things I had to look at on her.
Reagan and I still did not feel 100% Sunday afternoon, but we ended Easter with TC's family. Reagan got to play with her cousins and hunt more eggs.

Thankful for HIS blessing!!
Happy Easter 2012

Her Tunnel

Reagan LOVES (and I mean loves with a big fat puffy heart) her tunnel. She sits in it for hours and plays. Yesterday she wanted Murphy to get in it with her. Of course he refused when she tried to drag him in. Therefore, she walked over to his food container, got out a scoop of food and poured it in the tunnel. HOW SMART IS MY KID?? I mean it amazed me! That's a pretty stinking good idea for a two year old to have. And you know what? Murphy got in her tunnel!!! She had an idea and it actually worked. It was one of those  proud momma moments when you realize they are growing up and can actually think? I mean, I know she could think before, but that just proved it.

Here is another random video I took of her the other day when she was in her tunnel. This is just a glimpse of what she does in there. P.S. it was out in the garage this day.

Popcorn

So a couple of posts back I mentioned that my Grandmother and Granddaddy buy Reagan a bag of popcorn every week. She is obsessed with it and eats the whole thing throughout the week. Well, this past week she grabbed her bag off the counter when I wasn't looking. This ended with the entire bag on the floor and she was just helping herself to a few pieces at a time… When I walked into the kitchen she sweetly said, "oh hey momma! I just eatin' some corn!!" I was in the back of the house maybe a two minutes or less. She's pretty quick these days! Notice we have just gotten home from ballet…

Posing with her mess...

My favorite is how she ignores questions she does not want to answer!!

Weekend Update

Another weekend over, so sad!! We started Friday night off right with amazing boiled shrimp thanks to the hubs. He can whip up some seafood like a champ.

We eat on our back porch every night

Saturday morning we got up bright and early for some yard work. I am happy to report I was actually helpful this time. We spread a dump truck FULL of mulch first. I almost had a heart attack when TC pulled up with a truck load full! I was thinking a little mound, boy was I wrong.

Then we spread some dirt and TC laid sod down.
This was right before she rolled down the hill!!
She was only upset because she got her Hello Kitty shirt dirty.

While he was doing the sod I took Reagan to her second cousin JoLee Camille's 1st birthday party. It was super cute and had a pink and green theme. Reagan could have cared less about anybody but her great-grandaddy Saturday. He is wrapped around her little finger. As soon as he got there she wouldn't have anything to do with anybody else. Oh and of course she was worried about getting cake.
The Birthday Girl.

Eating cake.

When we got home from the birthday party I helped TC stain the back deck. It was actually a lot easier going than we thought it would be and we finished quickly.

Sunday we were actually early for church. This is a miracle in and of itself! We left and ate a quick lunch with Robert and "big" Anna Claire (I just love calling her that). We ran home, changed clothes and went on our first boat ride of the spring with Meemee and Pa. It was a perfect day for relaxing on the boat. Which is ironically named the "Playbuoy" HILARIOUS.  *side note…it came with that name, Meemee and Pa did not name it that!!

Happy Weekend Yall!!
