Merry Christmas!

Well Christmas is finally here! I was so excited I couldn't sleep so I got up at 6:30 and baked sausage muffins for everybody. We arranged for my parents and TC's parents to get here at 7:30 so they could see us open up Santa. My sweet baby was so excited. She was walking out of her room and goes "wait, need hairbow!" That's my girl! She knew there were going to be tons of pictures taken....I think she was more surprised when she came around the corner to find all her grandparents sitting on the couch. Our house currently looks like Toy's R Us exploded in it! There are baby dolls, ponies, play food and more everywhere! My personal fav is a "fur-real" dog that blinks it eyes and is motion activated. When you pet it, it moves it's head and wags it's tail. I flipping like it more than her I think. She hasn't officially named it but keeps calling it Alleigh/Lucy. Which are Bill and Leigh's dogs that she loves! So what a blessed morning we have had so far.

We had three family Christmas' yesterday and have one more to go today. I love, love, love family time and being able to see my baby so excited. How blessed are we that a little baby in a manager was born this day so many years ago to save us?

Reagan's Christmas Party

Ever since I was little I have wanted to be a mom. I wanted to be just like my mom. (Love you momma!) And I wanted to be the class mom just like her. I wanted to be at every event and field trip just like she was. So today I got to start following in her footsteps! It was Reagan's class party at school. SO MUCH FUN. Ten 2 year olds will wear you out and I decided her teacher does not get paid enough.  Those kids were FIRED up about some chicken nuggets and cheese puffs. I loved it. I am so thankful I have the flexibility to be there and be involved in her life. Here are a few pics.

Reagan and one of her BFF's Madden

So happy to get a cupcake! My baby loves some cake!!!

She was across from her boy toy John Michael who also likes to eat other peoples food!!

Her class and her teachers! So thankful for these hard working women!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Thankful

Today I am so thankful and have a full heart. I have not been in the holiday spirit at all and have completely not even decorated our new house. I was up all night last night with a sick baby and am exhausted. BUT I am not complaining!!! We are so blessed. AND I MEAN BLESSED. This day 2 years ago I had been home 2 days with a 4 pound baby. What a miracle she is. She amazes us all day everyday and not a day goes by I don't thank the Lord for saving her and giving her to me to raise on this earth. I could go on for days about her, but she is the focus of my blogs and tonight I want to write about my husband.

TC has been my best friend for it seems like my whole life. But maybe just about 10 years now!! WOW...where does the time go? I remember just yesterday sitting in his black truck in the County High parking lot before school. What babies we were! Who would have thought as high school sweethearts we would have made it this long. I thank the Lord for him everyday. I would not be where I am without him. He is my strength and my world. He has turned out to be such a wonderful husband and daddy to us. He is my leader and provider. He is my best friend. Most of my best memories are with him. We laugh together daily. We are a team. He loves me unconditionally (most of the time). He has given me the best gift I could ever receive in Reagan. What a lucky girl I am. I couldn't do it without him. So here's to my husband and my baby daddy. I Love You TC!!

ahh still potty training

Once again I am posting about potty training. WHY oh WHY is there not someone out there to come to your house, handle the training and leave with a smile on their face? Not that my brilliant child isn't doing wonderfully, its just a pain in the butt. We are currently bribing her with spongebob gummies and marshmallows. She has figured out that if she performs then comes a treat, so she will sit down on the potty and not go. BUT, she will sweetly say "MOmmy I tried real good!" So how do you not reward that? OR she will perform and then comments on it when she stands up. For instance, #2 the other day she said "WHOA that's a big one!!" I fell out in the floor laughing and I heard TC snorting from the living room. It really is an adventure in potty training every day.

One last story...I had her dressed in her ballet tights, leotard and coat heading out the door to ballet and running late. She then announces she has to potty to which I just stood there debating on wether I wanted to undress all of that. She looked at me for a second then said "Oh well, I teetee'd my diaper now" ONLY my child would do that then tell me and go about her business. The bad part? I was just glad I didn't have to take all those clothes off her.

Its December!

So just realized I haven't posted since October...Whoops! We have been crazy busy and have had a blast...Tons to catch up on so I will start with Halloween. Reagan was a black cat and LOVED it. She ran up to every door, screamed Trick-or-Treat, and made sure they put her candy in the bucket. HILARIOUS..TC and I pretty much ended up just chasing her around and around a friend of our's neighborhood. Great night and good times....Next weekend was her 2nd birthday!! HELLO KITTY party it was! That was also a blast and we had a huge turnout....Needless to say we counted up 48 people, 6 dogs and 2 cats. Yeap that's right, EVERYBODY came and it was a beautiful day for it. She had a bunch of her little friends there and they were super cute. OK, so next weekend my wonderful husband tells me on Tuesday well it's official we are MOVING!! I get super excited and do nothing about it...Wednesday afternoon he comes home and informs me we are moving on SATURDAY. Yeap, that's right people..he told me on Wednesday we are moving houses in 3 days. (Insert heart attack here). We frantically packed the house and on Saturday began the process. Did I mention we were swapping houses with my bro-in-law? Basically we did a house swap in one day. WORST IDEA EVER. But, with the help of some pretty awesome friends, it was done and here we are! This is our third week in the new house and we LOVE LOVE LOVE it. We are right on the lake, have an absolutely beautiful view and a very short walk to the water and our dock. I love waking up and looking at the lake. Ever since we got married TC has talked about moving on the water. This is where he grew up and we are lake rats in the summer. Not a weekend passes we don't go out on the boat, so needless to say we are PUMPED for this summer. So that brings us up to now...3 weeks before Christmas and I haven't even begun shopping... YUCK. I dread it.

Ok so for some cute Reagan funnies:
*On the potty (naked cause she thinks that's how its suppose to be) "WHEW Mommy, I smell awful!"
*"Do myself" aka do it myself cause we are really independent right now
*Playing in her Dora the Explorer play kitchen she calls her uncle bill bill on the phone every night and pretends to talk to him, his wife Leigh and most importantly their dogs Alleigh and Lucy whom she LOVES...and I mean LOVES
*I picked her up from pre-school the other day and she promptly informed me John-Michael (a little boy in her class) ate her yogurt and she needed more NOW

That's all I can think of for now. Going to upload some pics when I find the time!

Eye-Opening.

As I sit here in Reagan's room writing this post she is planning with 10 million toys. I am the worlds worst at buying her stuff that she absolutely does not need or even want. Living in the United States we are so spoiled. I am guilty of wanting frivolous things that I KNOW I don't need. Or do I even really want it or just want it cause my friends have it and its the COOL thing to have? And yes, I am sitting here wearing a Juicy tracksuit. How ridiculous, I know. With that being said, a friend of mine shared this blog thru Facebook and I could not stop reading it. H.O.P.E for Uganda This family has packed up and moved with their children to Uganda to start an orphanage for babies. Their ministry and story is amazing and it has really touched my heart. It has also made me think about the upcoming holidays and those who aren't going to have anything. These sweet people in Uganda don't know if they will be able to feed their baby the next day and here I am complaining because we won't be moved to a bigger nicer house by Christmastime....How absolutely selfish am I? Changes are a coming to the Lightsey house...I have had a revolution!!

TANTRUMS!

I would like to dedicate this post to temper tantrums. Reagan is so sweet then BAM it comes outta nowhere! Just freaks out....We have been working on our table manners and Yes Mam's and No Mams etc. but these freak outs are killing me. TC and I just look at each other confused..... and then try to figure out what's making her flip out? Saturday night her BFF Bill Bill was here and she had to get a spanking and immediately ran straight to him. TOO FUNNY. But, he could not save her from the spanking. The best part is she already knows to say "im sorry" and says it so cute we can't help but smile. Then she sweetly says "I wuv mommy".... gahhhh how do you spank something so cute? And by spanking I pretty much mean a swat on her butt that she probably doesn't feel because of her diaper. There's 3 weeks until her actual 2nd birthday and boy is 2 gonna be a good and challenging year.

Here are a few of her most recent funnies:
She and TC were at Walmart and he asked her right when they were checking out if they got everything or if they needed something else and he said she didn't miss a beat and said "Pancakes"

As she was fighting going to sleep tonight she was whispering to herself "birthday cake, birthday cake, birthday cake" over and over.... the kid is obsessed with cake!

She woke up the other morning and asked for some milk. As I got out of bed to get it and got down the hall she screamed "MOMMY" to which I went back in our room and she sat up (On my side of the bed that is) and goes "Warm it too..." OMG have we created a monster or what? Gotta love it..

2 Year Pictures!

Well, I got Reagan's two year old pictures back today from Mary Keeley and I have to say they are fabulous!! I mean who doesn't think their own kid is the bomb? She totally captured Reagan's personality and got some great shots of her actually SMILING! And let me tell you that is NOT easy. Girlfriend does not smile easily for a camera. Nor did she stay still for very long at any given time. With that being said here are a few of my favorites..

And, what even made this afternoon even more great? My bestie Chase came into town for his birthday and we got to have some friend time eating dinner at Chucks Fish. Reagan stayed home with her daddy who took her to Chick-Fil-A for dinner and to play, then to Walmart for some bonding time. He is such a sucker too. She came home with a new book AND a new Dora doll. What a sweet daddy he is!

Back in the grind

Well, we are home and back in the grind. It was an absolute blast at the beach and I couldn't have asked for a better time. Reagan was an absolute angel and LOVED every minute of whatever we were doing. She was even really good in the car on the way down and back. Of course, she was bribed a few different times with candy and treats, but hey who doesn't bribe their kids?

Today we met with our FAV photographer Mary Keeley and did Reagan's two year old pictures! OMG my baby is 2? Seriously, 2 years old? What a miracle she is! She cooperated fairly well, so I know they will turn out great. MK is super laid back and goes with the flow, which is so great with Reagan cause she has a mind of her own. I have already started planning her B'day party and it is of course Hello Kitty themed!!! She LOVES some Hello Kitty and every time we talk about her birthday she asks about the cake. I have assured her that she will have a cake at her party. She then made sure to ask could she eat it? Which I once again assured her she could. She is such a joy these days and TC and I crack up at the stuff she comes up with. You can actually have a conversation with her and she is not shy to tell you exactly what she wants! She literally wakes up in the morning and starts bossing me around...wonder where she gets that from? Obviously TC.

Beach!

Quick update from good ole OBA. (Orange Beach, AL) The weather is absolutely beautiful and praise the Lord, Reagan has decided she likes the sand! She has been so much fun this trip and I hate TC isn't here to experience it with me. We are for sure missing Daddy! She has looked for shells and walked the beach until her little legs couldn't go anymore. She is also a big fan of chasing the seagulls, although they have continued to elude us hah! Yesterday, we drove all the way back into Foley just to get some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and OMG were they amaze. That is one thing the tornado stole from me that I am having withdrawals from. Well, there and the Hobby Lobby which I apparently went to 2 times a week to get my fix. I miss it like a druggy misses their rush. Here are a few iPhone pics from so far and I am updating this from my phone as well. With that being said Thanks Steve Jobs! What an innovator you were!!

I suck at blogging...duh

AHHH, I swear I am going to do better at this. But, ya know... the best laid plans and all. I absolutely cannot believe how fast time is flying by. Where did Summer go and how the heck is it Oct 5 already? In one month and one day we will be proud parents of a two year old. YES 2 YEARS OLD. She is the absolute joy of our lives. Her sassiness could be a little problem when she hits oh about 13, but we will cross that bridge when we get there. These days she is hysterical. You can actually have conversations with her and most days she NEVER SHUTS UP. She is a little parrot and repeats everything I say. The good, the bad and the ugly...hmmm

Some of my favorites from the past few weeks:
* As we wake up one morning and TC is getting ready for work. (He had a little, ok a LOT of bed head going on) "ohhh Daddy cute!" to which TC replies is she making fun of me?

* She says "mommy, daddy, Ray Ray, Murphy" about 50 times a day. To which we reply, "yep, that's your family"

* She was being really quiet sitting on the floor a few days ago and I asked her what she was doing to which she politely responded "Eatin boogers..."

* Her new favorite is to talk on the phone to whoever I am, so she gets it in her hand and says "HELLO" at the top of her lungs over and over.

* And lastly today I asked her who she wanted to invite to her birthday party and with absolutely no hesitation at all she replied, "Bill-Bill and Lucy"!! For those of you who don't know Bill Bill and Lucy, Bill and his wife Leigh are some of mine and TC's best friends and Lucy is their dog. Reagan is OBSESSED with Bill. She asks me once a day where he is and I have to tell her I think he's probably working? Oh the mind of  a two year old.

This weekend she and I are headed with CeeCee and Poppa (my parents) to Orange Beach for one last little fling in the sand. The weather is suppose to be AHH-mazing. TC gets a "hall pass" as he and his friends call it for a bachelor weekend. I am sure this consists of motorcycle riding and other interesting plans.

It's also the best time of year ever in the south....FOOTBALL SEASON.

Happy Fall Yall, I swear Im gonna blog more than once a month.

Cabbage Patch Kids!

So as a child I always played with my cabbage patch kids. I am told I wasn't really into "playing babies" but Reagan totally is. She plays with baby dolls all day long. She drags them everywhere we go and sleeps with at least one. Her fav baby goes to school every week too. (The teacher informed me she does not share baby at school either. We are gonna work on that.) So anyways, I was over at my grandparents and mentioned to grandmother that I wanted to get Reagan a CPK. We then went on a hunt....cant find them at Walmart, Target or Toys-r-us? WHAT? So, grandmother likes to worry about something, just anything will do at any given time. Therefore, for the past 3 weeks she has been very worried about where she is going to get Reagan a CPK baby for her birthday. (Its not till November people). Long story short I just ordered one off the internet and can you believe people pay up to $375 for these "collector editions". Reagan definetly did not get the collectors edition. Just a good ole regular CPK. BUT, you know where they get you? Pay 3.00 and you can name is anything you want on the birth certificate and pick its birthday. So, of course I paid the $3. I mean, who doesn't want the cabbage patch baby named after them? Oh and shipping and handling was out of control. Just to warn you in case you need to order one.

Here's the one she ended up with. Kinda blurry but its cute. Blonde hair and green eyes so they will match.

Happy Birthday Bill!

What a great weekend it turned out to be. One of our BFF's Bill had a birthday and his wife Leigh threw him a surprise party. We got to Chuck's at 6:45 for the big surprise and it was a success!
This is Bill's surprised face!!

Bad news was that  we had a waitress that sucked soooo bad. She had the personality of a brick wall. Not Cute Girlfriend. Dinner with 17 turned out to take 3 1/2 hours... AHHH needless to say we got creative with some picture taking. Here are a two examples!

We then continued the birthday celebration over at innisfree! Fun fun times for the Lightsey's and all involved! Saturday was the usual lake and swimming pool. Reagan has decided that it's fun to just dunk herself in the pool with no warning and give me heart attacks! I will try to post the video of it. It's crazy she has absolutely NO fear of the water. Not so scary in the pool where we can see her, but extremely scary near the lake where she could disappear fast!

Big Girl Bed!

Well, its that time in life where you get to big for a crib and need somewhere to sleep. I guess at some point it happened to all of us. We at the Lightsey's have had a sleepless couple of weeks. Miss Reagan has decided she HATES (yes that is all caps) HATES her crib. She screams bloody murder and freaks out when she sees it. SOOO, since Tc refuses to start the habit of her sleeping in our bed she has been sleeping on a cot beside us at night. It wouldn't be so bad if she didn't consistently roll of the cot in the middle of the night EVERY NIGHT!! One night she even rolled off the cot, down the pillow and under our bed. This happened because our bed is super high on risers and she just slid right under there! She was up under the bedding yelling "Daddy, Mommy!!!". Looking back its pretty funny, but at the time is scared the heck out of us cause we couldn't find her in our sleep walking state. So, long story short we went today and ordered a bed. Its gonna take 6 weeks to get in so I am going to have time to make her room into a "big girl room". New paint, re-arranging, hopefully new light fixture, the whole 9 yards. Should be fun to do for sure.

Here's a picture of the bed we ordered.

Her room is going to be done up super girly like this!!

Needless to say this is my new project for the next few weeks.

Where has the time gone?

Well, I obviously have not updated in MONTHS!! Summer is almost over and its time for ALABMA FOOTBALL!! Hooray, hooray, hooray!!! We are hopefully getting one more beach trip in before the fall weather sets in and I absolutely dread being cold. Cold weather is for the birds. Today was Reagan's first day of pre-school in the two year old room and she did great. Her best friends is Bay-ee (AKA Baylee). They are so stinkin cute together and Reagan has named all her baby dolls "Bay-ee". More to come tomorrow, Reagan is standing here yelling "bathtub" at me. I can take a hint when I hear one.....

Summer!

So these days are flying by, and I am soooo ready for Summer. Reagan has been getting settled into a great routine between school and staying home with me. I can already tell a huge difference in her. The teacher always tells me good things. I think she does well at school or either somebody is lying.... Anyways, TC is super pumped that he is riding in his first "comeback" race for Motocross. Yes, our life insurance is paid up. That's this Saturday and while he is doing that we will be birthday partying it up. Reagan has not one, but TWO swimming parties Saturday. She is going to be one worn out little girl. The only bad thing about her going to a swimming party is that I am most likely gonna have to swim too. Guess I should dig out some mom appropriate swimwear for the events. HAH kidding I am gonna rock a two-piece.

On another note, I lost at Bunco last night. Our bunco group is hilarious and so much fun. I laugh the entire time I am with everyone. Bunco is a dice game for those of you who don't know. It gets loud, obnoxious and competitive. We love it!!! Next month is my month to host so I get to cook dinner and have it at my house. I am totally excited for it and think I am going to plan a themed bunco. Maybe I should make them dress up?

School Days! Pre-school that is!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to update, we have been so busy!... Pre-school has been a success! I was a nervous wreck last Wednesday on the way to Reagan's school. My stomach was turning over and over. I ABSOLUTELY did not want to leave her. But, I did and she lived. I cried the whole way home and sat on the couch feeling sorry for myself until it was time for me to go to work. She was not a happy camper when I left, but they tell me she gets over it quick. I laughingly told them that she would NOT lay down and sleep on her nap mat that "princess" needs to be rocked. In turn, they have laughingly told me both days she has gone that she lays right down and sleeps for 2 and a half hours! I mean honestly, nothing like your own kids to make you look like a liar. She is so dang cute in her little class. She is the tiniest one and is also one of the oldest.

On another note I celebrated my second official Mothers Day!! Reagan ran a fever and was snotty all night Saturday night so she slept in bed with TC and I. NOT FUN...... I woke up 15,000 times to different body parts poking into me. Sunday morning she was still sick and whiney so we didn't get to go to church on Mother's day, which I was sad about but no use in getting others sick. She and I slept almost the entire day Sunday wahoo!! Nothing like catching up on some much needed sleep. So that is all for now. I was informed by my husband he never finishes reading my posts because they are "too long"....hmm

Pre-school

The day has finally come. Reagan is going to school in the morning. Pretty sure I will be the crazy mom sitting in the parking lot crying. I mean she is only going 2 days a week and will be home with me all day on Tuesday and Thursday. I am just being a tad emotionally dramatic. I am going to refrain from calling up there more than 3 times tomorrow and she probably wont even stay all day. I only have to work for a little while.

Anyways, on another note its stinkin 48 degrees in Tuscaloosa tonight. I have had all the tornado victims on my mind all day. I am cold, so I know they are. It is still absolutely amazing how our town has pulled together. It will be months and months and probably years before we are fully re-built. Its heartbreaking. Not to mention the stories we keep hearing about looters!! UNREAL, how can you steal from other people at a time like this? I can't imagine their reasoning or why anyone would think this was OK. The good news is that Tuscaloosa News reports 8 people have been arrested for it! On that note Roll Tide and Good Night. I will update about pre-school adventures tomorrow!!!

Tornado Nightmare!

Wow, so to go all the way back to last Wednesday April 27.  A day that will forever be an important date in Tuscaloosa history. Thank the good Lord I left work at the hospital around 4:10, about 40 minutes before the tornado hit 50 yards from the hospital!!! I knew Reagan was safe up on the lake at Mee Mee and Grandpas (where TC also was). I came straight home since Murphy was outside and talked to TC on the phone. Decided I would be fine that probably the weather would miss us (YEAH RIGHT) and I would just stay home with the dog. Well, long story short, I sat in the bathtub with Murphy and felt like my heart was jumping out of my chest as I watched James Spann show a HUGE tornado rip right thru the heart of Tuscaloosa. In the aftermath, as I sit and look at pictures and watch youtube videos people posted, I still cannot wrap my head around the devastation. You have to see it with your own eyes to believe it. It is absolutely unreal. I cry every time I start looking at pictures people have posted. Our town has been destroyed. That is the only word to describe it, DESTROYED. But, at the same time the volunteers have been amazing. You can see people pull together to help one another and show their love for their neighbors. I cannot praise our Mayor Walt Maddox enough. Wow, he has done an excellent job and deserves some major credit. He would get my vote next year if I lived in the city!

And as bad as this sounds yes, we still went on our beach trip. TC and Bill volunteered all day Thursday and we left after that. The beach was beautiful and we had an amazing trip, but all of us had heavy hearts for our town. This week I will be putting in my time volunteering. And tomorrow I have already decided as much as I really hate blood and needles I am going to go donate. It is a weird feeling knowing I can't just ride down 15th Street like normal and swing in the Taco Casa drive-thru. Oh yeah, and I luckily had 2 Krispy Kreme doughnuts Wednesday morning. What are the odds? I am selfishly going to really miss those in the next few months.

Re-cap

So, Easter was an absolute success. Reagan had a great weekend. Friday night TC and I went to "secret church" from 6-12:00 and it FLEW by. David Platt is an exceptional speaker and spiritual leader. I could write and entire blog about just Friday night. We were up and early Saturday morning to head to Sylacauga. Reagan got to hunt eggs for the first time and LOVED it.
How stinking cute is she?
My grand-parents and Reagan's great grands!

Sunday morning we got up early and the Easter bunny came. I did make TC go outside and I am so glad I did cause I am sure the video is hilarious. Reagan was totally confused and we were so funny trying to get her to look down and see her basket. One of her eggs had mm's in it and I opened the bag and gave her two. I learned a lesson when TC walked in the living room 5 minutes later and she had the entire bag in her mouth!! Needless to say she had enough sugar before 9:00am on Sunday to last the rest of the day.
After church we went to TC's grandmothers then stopped by Nana Sue and Paw Paw Bobby's house. Reagan had a long day to say the least, but it was great. Here are some of our pictures.
With our basket we never saw!!
Our Family
Yes, she is wearing a TuTu...

Easter is coming!

So stinkin' excited for Easter to be here! I think Reagan is really going to "get it" and be into hunting eggs. (We have been practicing!) Today was my off day and she and I had an excellent day. We went to Belk early this morning with Cee Cee so I could get some new shoes to match my dress and Reagan was WIDE OPEN!! Needless to say we were there a max of maybe 20 minutes. She constantly amazes me. For example, she was standing on the new shoe box when we got home. Well, before I knew it she had pushed the shoe box over to the pantry, stood ontop of it and grabbed the marshmellows...(which is her version of crack I think!! She is obsessed with them) I mean she is only 17 months old, how does she think of these things? And of course I gave them to her cause I thought to myself, "My God, she is a genius..that was really smart".

Thursday nights are TC and my "date nights" meaning we always go out to eat while Reagan stays with MeeMee and Grandpa. I look forward to it alllllll week. We almost always go with friends and tonight is no different. We are meeting Robert, Anna Claire, Bill, Leigh and Rita at Pepitos later. YAY for Mexican food!! I am also getting pretty excited for "Secret Church" tomorrow night at Circlewood. David Platt is telecasting a service that is suppose to be AMAZING. I am not so excited about the fact that is is from 6:00-12:00PM!! I hope I am not layed out in a pew by the end. Supposedly, it goes by so fast you don't even realize its so late. Anyways and Saturday bright and early we are heading up to Sylacauga (sp?) Alabama for Easter with my dad's side of the family. I am the youngest grandchild and Reagan is the only great-grandchild so needless to say we are both a little spoiled by this side of the family. Reagan is absolutely in love with my grandfather. We take her over to my grandparents once a week to visit and she almost always has a "prize" waiting on her! They are in turn absolutely in-love with her too. Sunday is always a crazy day for us. We go to church, my grandmothers(mom's side) then Tc's aunts where his whole family is. LONG DAY to say the least. But a happy one at that.

Tonight I got her Easter basket all ready with all her stuff and wrapped it up. I am so excited to see the look on her face when we open the door and the Easter Bunny has come. I already have it all planned out and am making TC go outside to videotape she and I opening the door. TC isn't a big fan of the whole "lying" to your kid about fake people bringing them presents, but I am all about it. I mean, I believed in Santa Claus till I was like 14.....

WITH LOVE,
Meg

Weekends are so fast...

So Friday afternoon ended with a bang! Tornados all thru Tuscaloosa County = Sugarland being cancelled. We were very lucky and had no storm damage on our side of town but our church and homes around it had significant damage. Its amazing to see God's power when something like a tornado blows thru. TC and I worked in the yard on Saturday and he dug up a small little tree in our front yard. It took him a while to dig up the root system and I had to drag it out. Just this small "bush/tree" thing in our yard took forever to get out and HUGE trees all over Tuscaloosa had been blown over in seconds. It blows my mind to think of the power of a storm like that.

Anyways, so church had an Easter egg hunt scheduled for Saturday morning that we were so looking forward to but it was postponed due to all the damage. We ended up having a family day and then going over to Bill and Leigh's to eat dinner. Uncle "Be-ill" cooked not one but 2 drunk chickens, 4 fillets, corn and french fries. Sounds like enough to feed like 20 people? Nope, just me, Bill and TC! (Leigh had to work)

Sunday TC went to ride motorcross again so Reagan and I were on our own. We went up to MeeMee and Granpas and played outside. Well, meemee and Reagan played outside while I layed out by the pool and got FRIED!! I was sound asleep and didnt move a muscle I even had a burnt mark where my necklace was around my neck. I will just look at it like pre-gaming for Mullet toss weekend....Gulf Shores get ready!

SO all in all another great weekend. Dreading tomorrow, Comcast is suppose to be coming between 8-11 to fix our DVR. For those of you who know this story, TC is pretty dang excited. We will just hope Reagan doesn't hide the remote or hit any random buttons that will jack up the channels. (She has been known to do this)

HOME ALONE!!!

I am home ALL BY MYSELF!!! Please, do not get me wrong I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hubs and sweet baby, but I can't tell you the last time I had the house all to myself. It is absolutely glorious. I have watched a movie, eaten sitting in the recliner and painted my fingernails and toenails...These things do not happen often.

TC is over in Starkville, MS watching the Zac Brown Band in concert. I haven't gotten details yet but he and our good friend Bill (Be-illl as Reagan calls him) got to go to the meet and greet and eat dinner with the band!! TC text me a pic earlier and they are basically front row for the concert. If I know him well he is in heaven! And Reagan is spending the night with her Mee Mee and Grandpa (TC's parents).

And it is official Reagan is going to start Pre-school 2 days a week in May. TC and I went to her little school today to drop off paperwork and meet her teachers. It makes me so sad my baby is growing up! She is going to love it though. She is the most social little person ever (she def gets that from me). She just walked right in her classroom and checked out all the other kids and started playing. Not gonna lie my mamma heart was proud. This afternoon we went and bought her a nap mat and matching lunch box to take with her on her first day. I of course got it monogrammed cause who goes to school without their name on all their stuff these days. I can't wait for her to see it and would love to be a fly on the wall the first time her teachers try to get her to nap on it. I def think that will be a challenge!!!

TGIF tomorrow!! Can't wait for the Sugarland concert in the new Tuscaloosa Amphitheater!

Weekends are the best

What an amazing weekend the Lightsey's had! Friday night we had a cookout over at "Uncle" Bill and "Aunt" Leigh's house. Bill whipped up some amazing stuffed porkchops. Reagan loves their house cause they have an awesome back patio where she can play. Murphy loves it too cause he gets to play with Alleigh and Lucy their two dogs. Anyways, Saturday morning we got up with NO plans and it was awesome! We headed over to the Remote Control Model Airplane show to watch some old men fly their planes and it was so cool. Reagan is a big fan of the airplanes (which she can say!).

Enjoying some Juice while watching the planes!

We then had a quick lunch at Taco Casa and headed up to the lake on our good friend Chad's boat. Our boat is in the shop getting all the kinks worked out for the time being. We quickly learned Reagan is NOT a fan of the life jacket which she will def have to get used to since we will be by water all summer long between the lake, pool and beach.

Cashed out on dad's shoulder during the boat ride!!

Then Saturday night Reagan went to spend the night with CeeCee and Poppa (my parents) and we headed over to Anna Claire and Roberts house for some crawfish!! I stinking love crawfish but as TC says you never get full from them, just get tired of working so hard to get one little bite. (Very true statement)....

We ended the weekend with a beautiful sunday. TC went up to Maplesville, AL to ride dirtbikes while Reagan and I had an awesome day of playing outside, blowing bubbles, going for walks and eating popsicles. She is at one of my favorite stages yet and is so stinking cute!! She is talking more and has the funniest little personality....A little "strong-minded" at times (she must get that from her daddy?) but cute nonetheless....

So that's our weekend.....A great one to us!!

Blogging....

Have tried to blog in the past and did a horrible job. Have decided after becoming addicted to others blogs that I want to try it again. Will I be successful this time? Probably not, but going to give it a shot anyway.

I wish I had a picture of my backyard. Tc has decided he is now a farmer and tilled up literally HALF of our backyard. We planted (wait he... and our gracious friend Bill) planted corn, squash, tomatoes etc... Therefore, I will now need to learn to cook these things. For those of you who know about my cooking skills, this is scary....Very, very scary. Did I mention he wore his overalls while planting our garden? I could not stop laughing and he wanted me to wait to take his picture while he held his garden hoe. Nope, I couldn't make this stuff up. I will post a picture later of our amazing new garden. I am pretty excited to see how it turns out.
