At our house we did not put a lot of emphasis on Santa coming this year. Reagan obviously knows about Santa but we didn't stress over it. We would mention it and she would bring it up occasionally, but never to an extreme. We tried to talk alot about baby Jesus and his birthday and the actual Christmas story. She asked a bunch of really good questions and you can see the wheels starting to turn in her mind as she begins to comprehend the actual meaning of Christmas.
We had our elf on the shelf, but she could have cared less. She would get excited every once in awhile but overall ignored the elf. When we would ask her what she wanted for Christmas she would say nothing!! Honestly, the kid would not tell us a thing she wanted. She would say she didn't want Santa to come. Well low and behold on Christmas morning she proved her point.
She was surprised to wake up and find my parents and TC's parents in the den waiting on her. She didn't even glance under the Christmas tree and barely wanted a thing to do with her presents. It took her about an hour to even wander over there to glance at them. We finally convinced her to open up a few and she was just not interested. I think she was proving her point to us that she just didn't care a thing about good ole St. Nick and all his glory.
After she decided that she had stuff she might as well open it, she got into the spirit. She would get so excited about one thing it would have to come out of the box that very second. Her favorite gift has been the new stroller. She LOVES it and has played with it constantly. How blessed we are to have celebrated this Christmas season with her! It's so wonderful to see it thru her eyes.
